Introduction
The Fulbright Program is one of the most prestigious international scholarship programs, funded by the U.S. Government. In Pakistan, it is administered by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP). The program aims to provide opportunities for Pakistani students, researchers, and professionals to pursue Master’s or PhD studies in the United States, and later contribute to Pakistan’s development upon their return.
For the 2026 cycle, applications opened in December 2024 and the deadline was March 5, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Fulbright Scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:

- Applicants must take the GRE (Graduate Record Examination).
- TOEFL may be required later to prove English proficiency.
- All fields of study are accepted, except for clinical medicine.
Application Process & Required Documents
Applications must be submitted online via the official USEFP portal. Paper applications are not accepted.

- Three letters of recommendation
- GRE score report
- All academic transcripts and degrees (with grading scale explanation)
- Research proposal/study plan (especially for PhD applicants)
- CV/Resume
- Additional supporting documents (certificates, publications, awards, volunteer work, etc.)
Selection Procedure:
- Submission of complete online application
- Screening and shortlisting by USEFP
- Interviews of shortlisted candidates
- Final selection and placement in U.S. universities
